Future(s) of Digital Publishing on 20-21 April: #make_ElPub_Viral @ucl_qatar

In this time of multiple cancelled events, we have transformed the 24th International Conference on Electronic Publishing into a hybrid online event combining videos of keynotes and papers delivered as twitter threads. It is free (thanks to the generous support of UCL Qatar) and addresses a whole bouquet of topics around scholarly communication.

The event is relevant to scholars, students, librarians and other information professionals, publishers and anyone who is interested in the role of the digital technologies in human communications.

Joining is very easy! There are three simple steps:

1. Please check https://elpub2020.org/programme/ – a more beautifully rendered programme is available in the downloadable document.

2. Register on http://tiny.cc/elpub20

3. Tune in on 21 April (in Australia the conference starts on 20 April) and enjoy meeting the #elpub2020 community.

I also co-authored a short foreword to our proceedings which explores how the conference became an online event. I would be happy to share my experience with anyone interested in this kind of transformations.
